Agree on the procedure
Betting terminology describes actions within a chosen rule set. Before a round, identify the opening contribution, permitted action sizes, turn order and ending conditions. This article explains vocabulary rather than recommending stakes.
Blind and seen are information labels
Blind and seen describe whether a player has looked at their cards under the agreed procedure. They are not hand categories. Read the actual table instructions for any different action requirements attached to those labels.
Fold, call and raise
A fold means leaving the current round under its rules. A call matches the required amount when permitted. A raise increases the required action within the allowed limits. Do not import the limits of another table or app simply because it uses the same English words.
The pot is not a ranking rule
The pot describes accumulated play units, while a hand category describes cards. A larger pot does not change a pair into a sequence. First identify the pattern, then apply the stated comparison and show procedure.
Keep examples non-cash
Use written tokens when discussing a round, without deposits or purchases. This website neither handles money nor implements a betting engine. Its practice questions focus on recognising card patterns.
Ask what is missing
If an example does not specify action eligibility or limits, record the missing detail instead of inventing it. Continue with gameplay and the glossary.
